Namun itulah kelainan yang ditampilkan penyanyi muda Haikal Farid menerusi lagu Waktu Terindah.
Inspirasi saya adalah Ed Sheeran. Jadi, kalau dengar Waktu Terindah, ada bunyi yang rujukannya ke arah lagu penyanyi itu, katanya.
Menurut anak ketiga daripada tujuh beradik ini, itu antara strategi untuk menarik perhatian pendengar.
Dengan adanya Waktu Terindah yang menyajikan genre berbeza, pencinta muzik ada lebih banyak pilihan, katanya.
Mengulas lanjut lagu Waktu Terindah, Haikal berkata, ia adalah ciptaan kakaknya, Farhana Farid.
Pada awalnya, melodinya sedikit berbeza daripada apa yang diperdengarkan sekarang. Selepas kakak saya hasilkan lagu ini, saya cuba menyanyikannya dan muat naik ke YouTube.
Bapa saya memperdengarkan lagu ini kepada beberapa rakannya yang bekerja dalam industri dan terbukalah rezeki saya untuk bergelar penyanyi, katanya.
Sebagai penyanyi baru, Haikal bersyukur kerana usahanya itu mendapat sokongan keluarga.
Selain menyanyi, Haikal masih menuntut di sebuah institusi pengajian tinggi swasta di Subang Jaya, Selangor.
Pada sebelah siang saya menghadiri kuliah dan fokus saya 100 peratus pada pelajaran. Malam barulah saya berkarya.
Setakat ini semuanya teratur dan lancar. Insya-Allah saya akan seimbangkan pengajian dan karier muzik, katanya.
Sebelum ini Haikal pernah memenangi pertandingan nyanyian yang dianjurkan sempena filem Busker.
Pada waktu itu, saya mencuba nasib dengan menyanyikan semula OST filem itu berjudul Atma Jiwa dan syukur kemenangan itu menyuntik semangat untuk terus maju, katanya.
Apa pun, Haikal sentiasa berharap perjalanannya sebagai anak seni lancar.
